We designed our Transactional Analysis (TA) based counselling course to give you in-depth understanding, knowledge, practical tools and clinical skills to qualify with a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
Flexible training that builds as you go
Structured over eleven weekends each year, you will learn, practice and develop with a group of like-minded people, working together as you are taught a broad range of theories and professional clinical skills.
Supported by our highly experienced teaching team, you will complete Stage One and Stage Two of our the Connexus psychotherapy and counselling training programme. On completion of Stage One, you will receive a Certificate in TA Theory, and on completion of Stage Two, you will be eligible to take a Connexus Institute Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which also meets the training criteria for accreditation required by major professional bodies such as BACP and UKATA.
We designed this course with your ability to qualify in mind with assessment as an ongoing process. The content of our three Connexus counselling skills courses are already incorporated into the syllabus, giving you the opportunity to meet the criteria for professional accreditation without the need to take additional courses.
To give you maximum flexibility in your learning journey, our course is also designed to give you options to choose from upon successful completion of Stage Two. You can:
- qualify with a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and finish your studies
- qualify with a Diploma in Pyschotherapeutic Counselling and continue onto Stage Three to complete the training necessary for preparation to become a UKCP registered Psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst
- practice as a qualified Counsellor and retain the option to return to the Connexus Institute at a later date to complete the final stage of our psychotherapy training
Suitable for different starting points
If you are new to counselling, our Stage One, Certificate in TA Theory foundation year will provide a stimulating and highly enjoyable introduction to your training.
If you are already a practising counsellor or coach looking to enhance skills you have learnt from other schools or modalities, or have studied TA at a different TA training establishment, you may be able to start at Stage Two.
