Julie Shepherd
Placement and Library Co-ordinator
After a varied career that included roles in administration, education, and supporting adults with learning disabilities — alongside raising a family — Julie began her TA Psychotherapy training in 2010. Since then, she has worked with Macmillan Cancer Services in an NHS hospital and is now in advanced training, working towards her final psychotherapy qualification.
As well as Connexus Institute, Julie works at a private counselling practice in Eastbourne, providing personalised therapeutic support to clients. She brings this breadth of experience, together with her strong background in customer service and office-based roles, to her position at Connexus Institute.
As Placement and Library Co-ordinator, Julie helps students secure suitable placements, manages placement documentation, and maintains positive relationships with placement providers and supervisors. She also oversees the Connexus Library, ensuring that resources are accessible and well-organised, and provides guidance to students on using these materials.
Julie’s preference for one-to-one interactions allows her to offer thoughtful, personalised support to students as they progress in their professional development. Her commitment is grounded in her long-standing belief in the gold standard of training that Connexus represents.
